We re-started driving lessons on Sunday 18th, April 2021. Things are slowly getting back to a life of almost normality. There is currently a 6-month backlog for practical tests and theory tests are changing from being out-sourced, to moving it in-house. This has meant the closing of King’s Lynn theory test centre, though there should be a new one opening, hopefully in the near future.

The three lockdowns have had a big impact on our waiting list. We, therefore, fully understand if anyone on our call back list wants to change to a different instructor with more availability. All we ask is that you let us know so you can be removed from the list. If you feel you have been forgotten about, please do not hesitate to get in touch. At the time of writing 22/09/2021, I have around 56 names on my list. I have recently gone through the names and any messages I have not found on Facebook or Email, I have removed the names from my list. If you are concerned that you may have been removed, again, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

To give you some idea of the wait times, looking at the statistics over the last few years, we can see just how many tests have not taken place. These statistics are from the Department for Transport. The average amount of tests taken each year between 2007 and 2019 were 1,608,960. From April 2019 to April 2020, there was a slight drop with 1,599,566 tests taken. From April 2020 to December 2020 (the latest figures), there were just 436,044 tests taken, that’s about 27%, less than a third of a normal year!

We strongly suggest, that if you are planning to have lessons in soon, you start making inquiries 12 months beforehand, to start at your preferred time.

All customers will be notified by email of the changes to lessons and tests.

Your instructor will NOT come to your door. They will wait in their vehicle for you to appear. If you do not arrive within 10 minutes of your start time, your instructor will leave, and you will forfeit your fee for that session.

Cleaning of vehicle – The car and keys will be thoroughly cleaned before/after every lesson.

Wearing of gloves – All clients will be asked to wear gloves, either cotton (only if you have a skin condition that you have previously mentioned), latex, or vinyl. Wearing of face coverings – Face coverings must be worn; this is to minimize the risk of infection. DARE2DRIVE will provide a cloth face covering which can be washed for future use free of charge. Disposable face masks will also be available for a small fee if you have not arrived with a face-covering after the first session. Face coverings must be put on before entering the vehicle and not removed before leaving the vehicle.
